TỔNG QUAN VỀ SỞ THÔNG TIN VÀ TRUYỀN THÔNG
Sở Thông tin và Truyền thông tỉnh Đồng Nai được thành lập vào ngày 30/12/2004 theo Quyết định số 6891/2004/QĐ.UBT của UBND tỉnh Đồng Nai và có tên là Sở Bưu chính, Viễn thông Đồng Nai. Chức năng, nhiệm vụ chủ yếu của Sở là tham mưu, giúp UBND tỉnh thực hiện quản lý nhà nước trên địa bàn tỉnh về bưu chính, viễn thông, công nghệ, thông tin, điện tử, internet, truyền dẫn, phát sóng tần số vô tuyến điện và cơ sở hạ tầng thông tin; thực hiện một số nhiệm vụ, quyền hạn theo sự ủy quyền của UBND tỉnh và theo quy định của pháp luật.
Ngày 28/3/2008, Sở Bưu chính Viễn thông tiếp nhận thêm chức năng, tổ chức quản lý nhà nước về báo chí, xuất bản, phát thanh và truyền hình từ Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch và đổi tên thành Sở Thông tin và Truyền thông theo Quyết định số 988/2008/QĐ-UBND của UBND tỉnh Đồng Nai.
Sở Thông tin và Truyền thông là cơ quan chuyên môn thuộc Ủy ban nhân dân tỉnh Đồng Nai có chức năng tham mưu, giúp Ủy ban nhân dân tỉnh quản lý nhà nước về báo chí; xuất bản, in, phát hành; phát thanh, truyền hình; thông tin điện tử; thông tin đối ngoại; thông tin cơ sở; bưu chính; viễn thông, tần số vô tuyến điện; công nghiệp công nghệ thông tin; ứng dụng công nghệ thông tin; an toàn thông tin mạng; giao dịch điện tử, chuyển đổi số tại địa phương.
Sở Thông tin và Truyền thông chịu sự chỉ đạo, quản lý về tổ chức và hoạt động của Ủy ban nhân dân tỉnh, đồng thời chịu sự chỉ đạo, hướng dẫn kiểm tra, thanh tra, hướng dẫn về chuyên môn, nghiệp vụ của Bộ Thông tin và Truyền thông.

Sở Thông tin và Truyền thông tỉnh Đồng Nai có 04 phòng chức năng gồm: Văn phòng, Thanh tra Sở, Phòng Báo chí – Truyền thông, Phòng Chuyển đổi số và 01 đơn vị sự nghiệp trực thuộc Sở là Trung tâm Công nghệ thông tin tỉnh Đồng Nai.
OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS
The Department of Information and Communications of Dong Nai Province was established on December 30, 2004, according to Decision No. 6891/2004/QD-UBT issued by the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province, initially named as the Department of Post and Telecommunications of Dong Nai. The main functions and tasks of the Department are to advise and assist the Provincial People's Committee in implementing state management over postal services, telecommunications, technology, information, electronics, internet, transmission, radio frequency broadcasting, and information infrastructure; and to perform some tasks and powers delegated by the Provincial People's Committee and as stipulated by law.
On March 28, 2008, the Department of Post and Telecommunications received additional functions and responsibilities for state management organization in the fields of press, publishing, radio, and television from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and was renamed the Department of Information and Communications under Decision No. 988/2008/QD-UBND of the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province.
The Department of Information and Communications is a specialized agency under the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, with the function of advising and assisting the Provincial People's Committee in state management over the press; publishing, printing, and distribution; radio, television; electronic information; foreign information; basic information; postal services; telecommunications, radio frequency; information technology industry; information technology application; internet security; electronic transactions, digital transformation at the local level.
The Department of Information and Communications is under the direction and management of the Provincial People's Committee in terms of organization and activities, and also receives guidance, inspection, examination, and professional guidance from the Ministry of Information and Communications.
